Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Season 7 Episode 1 Recap
Dom Torres and Kyla Denanyoh overanalyze The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7, Episode 1, and Salt Lake City is BACK, with grief, new boyfriends, questionable wigs, and apparently enough emotion to make Dom cry at his desk during lunch.
The episode centers on Mary Cosby returning after the devastating loss of her son. Dom and Kyla discuss how vulnerable Mary is about grief, finding a new normal, and choosing to keep moving forward while acknowledging that grief doesn’t exactly respect a three-week bereavement schedule.
From her son’s dog, Cray Cray, spending time in his room to Mary admitting that the Housewives are her chosen family, the episode is heartbreaking without feeling too vulnerable or exploitative. And thankfully, Bravo did not show the funeral of Mary's son, Robert Cosby, Jr.
However, Kyla wants to discuss Heather Gay having a boyfriend! Tripp is a motorcycle-riding, leather-jacket-wearing, airbrushed-helmet-owning man which reminds Kyla of Neegan from The Walking Dead (but in a good way). Kyla Denanyoh especially loves watching Georgia attempt to interrogate him while clearly thrilled that her mom is happy. Dom Torres, however, has concerns about Heather and Tripp’s “hang and bangs” and thinks it is too soon to have personalized motorcycle helmets.
Heather mentions that Tripp is a former Mormon and that they are bad mornons together. Get your copy of Heather Gay's book, Bad Mormon, here: As an Amazon Associate, I may receive money from qualifying purchases.
Basically, Kyla sees romance. Dom sees evidence. What do you think?
They also discuss Whitney and Bronwyn’s fabulous pickleball outfits, whether Housewives can actually put their drama aside for Mary, Lisa Barlow inspiring Dom to make a goat-cheese grilled cheese, and Meredith’s new look.
Her facelift? Fantastic. Her wig? Well… As Kyla puts it: cry for Meredith’s wig.
